Get to Know Me

About Me

I have lived in the Shenandoah Valley for most of my life, graduating from Waynesboro High School and then moving on to the University of Virginia for my undergraduate education and Wake Forest University for my graduate work.

Before entering private practice, I spent my career providing therapy at nonprofit community counseling agencies, working with a wide variety of people and presenting issues. I most recently left Valley Hope Counseling Center, where I was the Executive Director for 21 years. I am excited to now focus solely on clinical work, where I have the privilege of sitting with people and witnessing their resilient journeys to health and healing.

My Approach

My approach is rooted in a humanistic, person-centered view of counseling. I believe we each hold the inner resources needed for healing and growth, and that counseling can help us access those strengths and create meaningful change. My goal is to offer a safe, supportive space where you can explore your experiences with honesty and self-compassion. Together, we’ll work to understand patterns, let go of what no longer serves you, and build new ways of coping that help you move toward a fuller, more connected life.

My methods

I approach therapy from a client-centered perspective and draw upon a variety of theoretical approaches to best meet your needs.
